Dr. Jeffrey Phillips DVM – Dr. Phillips is our Head Veterinarian and owner with 25 years of Vet experience. He grew up on a dairy farm in Mercer County and knew at a young age that he wanted to become a vet. Dr. Phillips worked as a vet assistant in a busy small animal practice in Lexington while attending classes at both Murray State University and the University of Kentucky. He then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with high honors in 1996.

Dr. Phillips practiced as an associate veterinarian for six years at a mixed animal practice and seven years at Commonwealth Animal Hospital in Harrodsburg before becoming the owner of Anderson Animal Hospital in 2009.

Dr. Phillips enjoys the challenges of veterinary medical and surgical cases. His special interests are soft tissue surgery and endocrinology cases. He hopes to see Anderson Animal Hospital continue to develop as a full-service, state-of-the-art facility that will continue to help strengthen the bond between pet and owner.

Dr. Phillips is happily married to his wife Tonya. They live in Harrodsburg with a son, Nathan, and a daughter, Lyndsey. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, taking care of his small farm, and mowing the lawn (He loves mowing the lawn). He has 3 super sweet dogs, 2 cats that hate each other, and a farm full of cows and calves.

Gabby is our certified vet tech. She graduated from Morehead State University in 2014 with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Gabby is the proud mother of 2 beautiful girls and she spends her free time trying to keep up with them. Along with her kids, she also has 3 crazy yorkies, 2 big dogs, 4 loud cats, and a ferret all competing for her attention.

Kristal is one of our vet techs who has been with us since 2016. She had 10 years of experience in the veterinary medicine field before coming to work with us. Kristal enjoys hiking, going to the beach and sleeping, napping, and snoozing. She comes home every day to 4 kids, a husband, 3 dogs, and 4.5 cats.

Millie Is one of our most experienced techs who has been in the vet profession since 1994. She specializes as a surgery tech. She is originally from West Virginia and has a BA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, she enjoys riding and showing American Saddlebred horses, and taking care of her dog, 4 cats, and Shetland pony.

Robin is our head vet tech/ receptionist/ media manager and anything else Dr. Phillips decides she is that day. She has been with us since 2012. Robin graduated from Asbury University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/ Public Relations and Equine Management. She spends her precious free time doing anything musical and often breaks out in random song and dance at the hospital. At home she has a zoo that includes a husband, step kids, adopted kids, 3 dogs, 2 crooked cats, and a ball python.

Cali started with us in 2018 while she was still in high school. She is currently at Morehead State University majoring in Pre-Veterinary Science with the goal of becoming a vet. Cali enjoys riding/ working with horses and photography. She has 2 cats and a very photogenic Australian Shepherd.

Carlotta has been with us off and on since 2011. Currently we have her talents full time. Carlotta is also our resident baker and coney sauce maker and keeps all the staff fat and happy. Her favorite past times, besides baking, include reading, cross stitching, and cliff jumping (ok maybe not cliff jumping). Carlotta has a long-haired Chihuahua who has the personality of a grumpy old man.

Josh started with us in August of 2020 amidst all the craziness and has learned things very quickly. His hobbies consist of hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and long emotional walks on the beach at sunset. We share his talents with Ninevah Christian Church where he works part time with the youth. He has 1 big lab named Diesel.

Lyndsey started with us in 2021 to follow in her father’s footsteps. She works with us after school and on the weekends. When she’s not taking care of animals, she likes to watch Netflix, play basketball, and go hiking. She plans on attending UK’s pre-vet program.

Sarah started with us in 2019, after school and on the weekends. She has plans to go to school to be a vet. In her free time, she enjoys being part of the FFA and hanging out with friends and family. She helps take care of 2 dogs and a plethora of cats.

Angela is one of our friendly up-front faces. She went to school For Equine Therapy but ended up here in a small animal practice. She started with us in 2020. She spends her free time riding her horse, spending time with her family, and constantly fixing the tires on her horse trailer. She has 3 kids, a few grandbabies that she loves to spoil, 2 rotten pit bulls and 1 horse.
